What should you expect?

We'll be camping at wonderful Camp Drake. It's about 40 minutes away, and we'll drive as a group leaving from Barkstall Saturday before Noon. About Camp Drake

On Sunday afternoon from 1 - 4pm, there will be the Smiling Pumpkin program put on by Prairielands Council and the Order of the Arrow at Camp Drake.

Saturday afternoon, The pack will go for a hike. Then,  the pack will prepare dinner in our campsite. After dinner on Saturday, we'll have a campfire program with skits and songs; then go to bed.

On Sunday, we'll wake up, have breakfast pack up camp. Then, we will paticipate in Smilin' Pumpkin before we head home.

What do you need to bring?

The survey also has a checklist of things to bring. We suggest you keep it simple and don't over-pack. However, warm clothes are essential - the last two years the temperature dipped to about 30 degrees over night.

The Pack will cook dinner on Saturday night, and breakfast on Sunday. You do not need to bring any cooking equipment. (We do ask you to bring a sack lunch on Saturday, to be eaten when we get there.) We ask you to pay $9 per person to cover meals, up to $25 max per family.

Sleeping bags must have a Temperature Rating of 30 degrees or colder. (A 30 degree bag will keep you warm at 30 degrees.) You can buy decent ones on Amazon for $25. Get to it in two clicks Any sleeping bag with a cartoon character on it is NOT sufficiently warm.

The pack has some tents and sleeping bags to lend out, so PLEASE fill out the survey so we know how many are needed.

Medical Forms and Permission Slips

We'll need to have medical forms for every person camping (adults and kids) and permission slips for all kids (Scouts and siblings). Blank forms may be found here:

Medical forms are good for a year, so if you filled one out in the Spring or Summer then it's still good and we have it.

TIME-SAVING TIP! The Medical form is a PDF that you can save with your information typed in. Then, in future years, all you need to do is update any new information!

Please bring signed medical forms and permission slips on Saturday the 26th. Please note that you're supposed to attach a picture of your Insurance information with the form.
